Sensing and Communications
The programme focus is to develop secure communications and data link solutions, as well as knowledge extraction from data streams, making decision (prioritisation, ranking information), data fusion, and situation awareness.
It aims to develop a unified framework that eases the integration of novel sensors with capabilities for automated description and data tagging, rapid search, and reaction to change in circumstances.
Another topic of interest is to combine data from different sensor types to obtain richer and fuller information base for the purpose of enhanced mission management, for example fusing electro-optic and infrared sensors for high resolution object segmentation in day and night operations.
