Scenario 3 – Major Event Security
Major Event Security Project Summary
- A major event is taking place in a city, over a period of several weeks, generating extensive foot & road traffic
- Intelligence indicates the potential for a small but highly co-ordinated group intent on disrupting the event, once it is up and running
- The National Police Air Service contract a persistent UAV to monitor the whole site & establish ‘pattern of life’
- Any simultaneous anomalous movement is to be identified & investigated by other NPAS aircraft
Major Event Security – Synopsis of Activities:
- Conduct Pre-Event Surveillance of the Scene, collating surveillance data with which to construct a Baseline Pattern of Life;
- Construct a Pre-Event Baseline Pattern of Life from the surveillance data, from which it is possible to recognise changes in the Pattern of Life during the Event;
- Conduct Surveillance of the Scene during the Event, collating surveillance data from which changes in the Pattern of Life during the Event are detectable;
- Recognise Simultaneous Anomalous Activities during the event, with a view to the provision of intelligence to NPAS Follow-Up Vehicles.
